Today I wanted to add a few features to a project.

Users log on at And manage their blog at
Their blog actually lives at usename.domain.com

I need to access a logged on users session from their blog url. the session is set at the generic url.

Anyone have a good suggestion?

um.. session always uses cookies, the url, or form to track the session.

I am using the session scope to store the data relevant to the user.

So saying from the beginning 'use cookies' doesn't help much without specifying why and how in a situation that I don't recall being documented or explained by macromedia or adobe.

setclientcookies="No"

and manually settings the cookie that will track the session is by far - NOT the standard way of doing this.

Sorry for not being clearer. You stated "I need to access a logged on users session from their blog url...Anyone have a good suggestion?"

I simply suggested cookies because they would allow you to access a logged on users session throughout your application. I use cookies for session manipulation to a great extent, so much so that I guess it has become second nature in some cases. I guess that since I do it so much, I didn't realize that no one else really uses it.

I'm sorry for any confusion.

Hope This Helps!
