I have the following problem. Here's a sample situation:

I travel between sites with my laptop. Let's say there's 3 sites, one in Dublin one in Manchester and one in London. Each site I travel to I connect to the same server for my mail (in Dublin) but each time the IT team have to change IP settings on my Email account. There seems to be a bit of an issue about this so I've been up to 2 hours without mail.

Can my profile be configured so I can choose a profile each time I open Outlook i.e. one profile for Manchester, one for Dublin and one for London so that when I open the London mail the IP settings are automatically configured to point to my mail server in Dublin.

I am using Outlook 2003.

Thanks in advance.

I would think that the IP address has more to do with security on the server, limiting who can access it. I would say that your IP address would be different each time, then there is nothing you can do.

However, if you are going to the exact same ethernet port in the exact same location each time, and that the IP address in each location is static, and not dynamically assigned by the router in that location, then I would think there could be a way to fix this automatically based on those 3 fixed IP addresses. That's just my guess, though, as I've not worked on the server end. It seems logical - and even if it couldn't be setup 100% ahead of time, a script should be able to be created to change the configurations as needed. But that still may have to be on the server side.

kjv is onto something there. What may be happening is a Global Security Policy prohibiting you to attach to the IP range or name of your mail server.

you may want to create a second and third Outlook mailbox profile and configure it to attach via the network you're at, via the connection configuration for the specific profile. You'll have to create a network connection specific for each site to attach Outlook through
