I recently purchased a Microsoft webcam and it's not functioning as it should. The reason for this is that the webcam must be plugged into a USB2.0 port for full functionality.

When I plug in the webcam, I get the following message from Windows:

"This USB device can perform faster if you connect it to a Hi-Speed USB 2.0 port. For a list of available ports, click here"

So I click the balloon message and get the following pop-up:

THE PROBLEM IS that I have tried every USB port on my pc (there are 7) but I still get the first message telling me to plug the webcam into a USB2.0 port and the camera still functions as though it's in a USB1.1 port.

Can anyone please advise as to what I may be doing wrong. As you can see from the following device manager image > > my pc has USB2.0 capability.

Please advise if you can.

Thanks,
Stephen.

So your version of Windows does not see your USB ports as 2.0? Check how the Device Manager describes your USB ports.
