How can I determine whether my USB is Ver 1 or 2? Thanks.

Look in your manual
Tell us the make/model

Start by questioning and soon you will be answering.
So please take but remember to return and give when you can.
 
If your device manager (Windows XP) lists it as "enhanced" then you have a USB 2. Also, USB 2 was introduced in 2001, so any earlier models probably don't have it.
 
If your Device Manager shows the word "ENHANCED" in the description of the USB Host Controller, the system has High Speed USB (USB 2.0) capability.

Types of High Speed USB (USB 2.0) Host Controllers

Intel Enhanced
SiS Enhanced
VIA Enhanced
ALi Enhanced
Standard Enhanced
NED Enhanced

Any other USB controller device description is USB 1.1
