We use IBM Thinkpads, which do not have the RS232 port built in (it only comes with the port replicator). So one solution for gaining console would be to use a USB to RS232 converter. I was wondering if anyone has used and can recommend one to work reliably with Cisco gear.

Thanks.

Use a good name-brand like Belkin and you'll have no problem. My people use them all the time.

I use an IOGear on Windows XP and it works flawlessly.
