USB Storage lockdown for users

am i in the wrong section? only reason im posting here is b/c its related to GPolicies via AD

I'm following the bottom portion of this tech article regarding "Controlling block storage devices on USB buses"

Its says to traverse in the registry to the following:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\StorageDevicePolicies

I do and i DO NOT have this registry setting there, i have SP2 on these boxes. Any suggestions?

Are the systems based on diferent hardware?

What about trying to create the key on a test box and seeing if it works?
