Hi All,

Well, after a year of use, I finally have a problem with XPHome.

Before really digging into it, I thought I'd check here.
When I attach a USB device (usually my digital camera), the system doesn't "see" it. If I re-boot and plug the camera in, sometimes it's recognized and sometimes it isn't.
I've noticed that when it is recognized, it takes a long time.
No problems are reported in Device Manager.
Any ideas?

TIA,

WIA errors are tricky.

I particularly liked coughdrop's suggestion to re-affirm some critical registry settings, which I will summarize here:

Open notepad and copy/paste the below as fix_usb.reg :

***** start copy/paste below this line
REGEDIT4

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\WIA.AutoplayDropHandler.1\shell]
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\WIA.AutoplayDropHandler.1\shell\open]
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\WIA.AutoplayDropHandler.1\shell\open\DropTarget]
"Clsid"="{F1ABE2B5-C073-4dba-B6EB-FD7A5111DD8F}"

***** end copy/paste above this line

Double click fix_usb.reg to merge the contents with your registry. Reboot and test.
