We are useing these drives increasingly through out our firm and we are having problems with the drives conflicting with our mapped drives namely the first drive E:. I cant seem to find any tool to change the drive association for the jump drives or to set it to take the first open slot rather than the first drive that is hard coded.

Does any one have some pointers on this?

There is not a way at the moment to change the behavior you are observing.

The closest you can come is to move a drive letter associated with a removable device to a higher drive letter, forcing therefore an opening lower in the drive table.

If D is a CD ROM device, use Device Manager to move it up the alphabet to a non-conflicting slot such as Drive R. This opens up Drive D for the jump drive. You will not be able to move letters A, B or C.

You can manually change it in the disk manager, but not before you hook it up.
