Has any one else delt with this?

In System Properties, Advanced, Startup and Recovery, uncheck to automaticly restart on errors.

Now try again and post the blue screen error messageback to the forum.

This is What I recieve when I plug in the USB drive
Error: NO_MORE_IRP_STACK_LOCATIONS
Any help would be awesome.

I tried over writing the corrupt file with the replacement with no luck.
the problem returns but the instructions state to add to the base image and that would require reimageing the entire office of 350 PCs.
any other suggestions?

You bet, I am actually proxied into one of the PC that has the problem now and I had to creat the key from scratch.

The user plugged it in and had no problems
I can push the fix to all our PCs but I am not sure how to just merge the DWord value with out over writing the whole key
If I export the whole key and remove the other values will this over write the key with the all the other values removed or will it keep the other information in the Key?

Open notepad and copy/paste the below as IRP_fix.reg :

*** begin copy/paste below this line
REGEDIT4

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\LanmanServer\Parameters]
"IRPStackSize"=dword:00010010

*** end copy/paste above this line

"IRPStackSize"=dword:00001111 && equals 15 decimal, default
"IRPStackSize"=dword:00010010 && equals 18 decimal

The logon script would contain the line:
regedit /s IRP_fix.reg

I got it all set, just running a little slow today
I just exported the key and I will use our Wininstall to push it silently to the platform.

Thanks for your help I am sure I will be talking to you again on other issues that arrise

Sorry, I entered these values wrong:

"IRPStackSize"=dword:00000012 && 18
"IRPStackSize"=dword:0000000F && 15, the default

The key didnt exist so I created a new one from scratch
then exported it out to put on the Machines
do you know of any reason not to set it to the maximum?

The Maximum for XP is 50. It just reserves memory for no purpose if the value is set to 50, but it will not hurt anything. If no value exists, it is set to 15.

Usually a value of 18-19 is sufficient, but there is no hard and fast rule.
