I hope someone can help shed some light on this one!
ok, I have just bought a hp 1018 usb printer and tried to install it but i think in my haste i made a mistake by plugging in the printer to the pc before I installed the software. now when i connect the pc to the printer all i get is the message "usb device not recognized"
I have managed to get the printer working on my laptop by following the right procedure and it prints fine, so i know there is nothing wrong with the printer or usb cable and I have also tried another usb printer in my pc and that works fine too!!
is there anyway i can get my pc back to the point before I plugged the printer in??? I have tried a system restore but no luck and I have tried removing the drivers and reinstalling but still no joy.
I don't really want to format my pc to resolve this so if anyone has any suggestions for me I would be very grateful.
