usb device disappears

Hi,
With WIN98 I have a USB FS yoke and a sidewinder FF wheel (gameport).from a clean install the yoke works fine, but when the FF wheel is installed after a couple of reboots

the USB device disappears never to be seen again, the only way I can get it back is a complete reinstall of WIN98.

MB: KT7A RAID (4-1 Ver 4.37)
proc: AThlon 1.2Ghz
512M SDRAM

Any Ideas ?????

This is a common problem with the Sidewinder. I was told to replace the drivers with the most current and other than that...no other support was available.

There is a known issue with 98SE and USB stuff...

There is a fix posted.

If you havent resolved this...post and I will answer with more info. I pledge to share any information I have and advise to the best of my knowledge based on the information provided.
