I know this is probally a easily answerable question, but is there any USB support in Linux (specifically RedHat 6.2 Distro with KDE and Gnome)
Karl
kb244@kb244.8m.com
<a href=
Experienced in : C++(both VC++ and Borland),VB1(dos) thru VB6, Delphi 3 pro, HTML, Visual InterDev 6(ASP(WebProgramming/Vbscript)
I haven't tried USB with Red Hat 6.2 (hate RH anyways) but I have tried with Mandrake 7.1 and it worked right away, well at least for my mouse (Intellimouse Explorer) it did. It comes with more useful (and useless?) stuff than RH does, including Gnome, KDE and Windowmaker, which RH 6.2 (at least the download) doesn't.

Sorry if this sounds like a rant...

I would get Mandrake, but unfortunatly it wasnt on the ftp.cdrom.com when I was looking for it, So I settled for RH6.2, it least had support for everything except my USB Intelimouse Explorer, you know a pub FTP I can get Mandrake 7.1 from (how new is the Kernel anyhow?)

Also RH6.2 downloaded off FTP.Cdrom.com comes with Gnome, KDE, WindowMaker as the Window Managers when I installed it from the download.
Karl
kb244@kb244.8m.com
<a href=
Experienced in : C++(both VC++ and Borland),VB1(dos) thru VB6, Delphi 3 pro, HTML, Visual InterDev 6(ASP(WebProgramming/Vbscript)
I downloaded Mandrake 7.1 from them, and my god they dont look like RH anymore(used to run Mandrake 5.3) I'm impressed by it's setup, and it uses my mouse (Chose USB mouse) like a breeze, however I have to make sure its pluged into the second USB port rather than the Powered USB hub I have. I didnt even have enough Partition space to get everything off of Mandrake (will expand the 2.5G later would need reinstalling anyways)

well anyways thanks
Karl
kb244@kb244.8m.com
<a href=
Experienced in : C++(both VC++ and Borland),VB1(dos) thru VB6, Delphi 3 pro, HTML, Visual InterDev 6(ASP(WebProgramming/Vbscript)
