Hi,

I have a legacy Mini PC system that we provide/install for customers. However, the 3rd party software for a specific application now requires the use of a propritary PCMCIA card to interface with some other hardware. This Mini PC does not have a PCMCIA slot!

I've see numerous USB connected PCMCIA reader/adaptors but them seem to all read PCMCIA storage devices but do not support I/O, network cards etc.

The only one I've found so far is but this looks very hand built so I have reliablity/volume concerns.

Does anyone know of any other interfaces of this type? A UK/Euro supplier would be preferable.

Many thanks.

That's awfully strange. Most mini-pc's made in yesteryear had a 16 bit cardbus for expandable stuff like this.

Do you have a pci/isa slot available? You can get ISA=>PCMCIA or PCI=>PCMCIA adapter.

It all else fails, go with that USB=>PCMCIA adapter. Looks like the only thing that you can use.

Thanks,

Sorry, in trying to be brief I missed essential info. Perhaps I should have said it's a Sumicom PC which is just an inch or so tall and the width of a CDROM drive. No PCI slots and no PCMCIA slots but I do have 3 USB's, serial and a firewire.

I'll give it another day searching and then I guess I'll try Mr handmade.

Thanks again.
