I do not have a USB Enhanced controller to support the higher speed for my scandisk flash drive. I am running Windows XP Home w/ SP2. Does anyone know where I can get the upgraded controller for this machine? Is the upgrade just a drive that I can download for free?

The ability to use USB 2.0 is dependent on your hardware. If your hardware is not 2.0 compliant, there is no way around it. Check the documentation of your mainboard to verify the compatibilty.

You may need to add a PCI card in order to use your new thumb drive. However, XP will allow you to use the flashdrive at the slower 1.1 speed if you don't want to hassle with it.
