This problem started a couple weeks ago with my US Robotics modem that I just bought 3 month ago,
it's a PCI Faxmodem for windows and here is the problem\ situation:
Most of the time connecting to the web there is no problem,
the problem start "some time" after I'm browsing some web pages, and I click on a link, or just reading stuff
and I get this pop up message: US ROBOTICS DRIVER INTERFACE US Robotics has encountered a problem and need to close -
sorry for etc, etc.
Error Signature Application name: ujm link.exe AppVer.4.11.21.0 Mod Name USRV429.dll Mod 4.11.21.0 offset 0000891c .
and then I get the reconnect box<
but the connection icon on the task bar show that I'm still connected and running at my normal speed ,
and canceling the pop up reconnect box will get me nowhere,
so I must log off and reboot and reconnect again ,
and without a problem,
I can surf for hours or even days without this problem popping up again!
I did a check in hardware on this Modem,
and it displays the correct modem,
and in properties it shows as "this device is working properly"
It also shows as the driver being a Microsoft driver,
and not US Robotics one. Logging on the web it's not a problem here,
(altho I do get a stall once in a while... ) But overall 80% of the time it's the first shot, I need to fix this annoying pest, and your "Experienced" advice is most welcome, right now I'm posting this with the problematic US Robotic modem without any probs

Try to install the modem into another slot and see if the problem will repeat. Try to locate updated drivers for this modem. See if any component on the card gets hot when the problem appears (you may have to leave the covers unscrewed, in order to open quickly)

etarhan I did all that, and checked for viruses as well, the problem is not there, and I've never heard of modems getting "Hot" and as far as updating the drivers for it, I no longer have the box or the modem model #
