EVERY time I try a search in some sites, using their search engine, the very second I click the "Search" button, OUR BROWSER crashes!! We get this error:

"IEXPLORE caused an invalid page fault in
module URLMON.DLL at 017f:702c235c.
Registers:
EAX=00000000 CS=017f EIP=702c235c EFLGS=00010293

EDX=0161ea11 ES=0187 EDI=00000000 GS=0000"

WTF?? WHY does this happen here and nowhere else? Running: Win98SE, lots of RAM, no viruses, and with Cookie Pal enabled or off totally, same thing for Norton Anti-virus.

We are using IE 5.50 as our Browser. Nothing in the MS Self-help sites help, not do any tech site we've checked. Our registry does NOT have any extra goodies in it as per MS's suggestion.

Wassssaap??

You can try this, it may work or not
go start->run->regedit, navigate to this registry key
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Search
change each of the fields to be blank:
the should be default
Customize search
Search Assitant
Basically you right click on the name and click Modify, then clear the text thats in there. See if this works, it may not

good luck :)

Thanks for the advice, but the search I meant was on some specific web-pages, NOT through the Internet Explorer "Autosearch" feature.

Still stuck with this prob. "Repairing" IE doesn't work.

It's some problem specific to IE as when going to the same web-page using Windows Explorer and typing the URL in the Win Explorer address bar and trying the search, it WORKS!

So what's the problems with Internet Explorer?????!!!
