urlencode and ' chars

Greetings all...

Urlencode seems to translate " ' " chars into " \' ".. is there anywhy around this?? :s

My codes look like something a kid wrote
I have absolutely no idea what I am talking about
Somehow I still manage to make it work

perhaps? I'm not sure why you'd want to use urlencode() and keep apostrophe's... but stripslashes will put them back as they were.
