urgent - truncation error

I have a field defined as memo but when I type in words, it is getting cut off after 255 words.
Is there a workaround to this?

You shouldn't need a workaround. This definitely works in A97 and A2002. Could it be that you have placed an inirect restriction in the properties of the control into which you are typing?

I went to the help menu and it said that even though the datatype is memo, the size is 255.

I had another look at this and was able to insert and print 25000 plus characters into a memo field, using A97 and A2002. I couldn't find any place where there may be a property which you may have set.
