Prior to building & testing a release package for my latest version of my app, i unistalled the previous version installed my PC using the add/remove software utility under the XP control panel. During this process it gave me the option to remove a number of shared components, including MSCAL.ocx, which i foolishy decided to say yes to (purely out of curiosity).

Then when i went to attepmt to build the package of the latest version of my code it prompts me to complie the exe first, which then produces this error -

'\\szs001\sp\Call log Interim System\Call Log Interim System v1.4.1\MSCAL.OCX' could not be loaded

I also get a similar message if i try to open the VBP.

Have i completely removed the component(s) from my machine
How do i rectify this?

p.s. i am using VB6 SP6 and XP

... and probably MS/Office. I seem to recall that MSCAL is an Office component.

... or even use the native VB Monthview control instead, which is more stable and doesn't change with each new version of Office. You will find it in Microsoft Common Controls - (MSCOMCT2.OCX)

Golom is correct. More specifically different versions came with different releases of Microsoft Access (so you only get the OCX in Office versions that include Access). And no matter which version you have it isn't actually redistributable (unless you have an Office Developer licence).

Way back in the days of Office 97 there used to be a special, redistributable version that you could download from Microsoft, but all the links to that seem to be broken these days.

Furthermore, even if it was redistributable, I'd still advise that you use alternative date controls such as DateTimePicker or MonthView included with VB as part of the Windows Common Controls 2

Having said all that, here is a link:
