I have a folder permissions problem.
I have a three level folder structure.
Folder 3 is within folder 2 which is within folder 1.
Folder 1
File1.txt
File2.txt
Folder 2
FileA.txt
Folder 3
FileB.txt
I want my user to be able to navigate through Folder 1 and Folder 2 to Folder 3.
The user has read, write and modify for folder 3.
The user has only the ‘Traverse Folder/Execute File’ permission for Folder 1 and 2.
With these settings I expected my user to be able to navigate through Folder 1 and Folder 2 without viewing any files in Folder 1 and Folder 2 and then be able to
edit anything in Folder 3.
The problem is, he is denied permission to open Folder 1. Why is this?
Do I have to do something to Folder1 in addition to ‘Traverse Folder/Execute File’?
Dazed and confused
