urgent help - "Error in retrieving tables. Driver not capable"

Hi,
I am having BO version 5.1.7 and DB2 client version 8.1
I am able to successfully connect to the DB2 database using the IBM DB2 ODBC, but in the BO Designer, when i run the wizard, it gives me the following error:

" Error in retrieving tables."
[IBM][CLI Driver] CLI0150E Driver not capable. SQLSTATE=S1C00

What may be the probable cause of this error? Do i have to upgrade my ODBC driver for this or is it some problem with the database settings?

Any help would be appreciated.

Play around with the ODBC DSN configuration settings to specify a "Least Common Denominator" set of specifications and try incrementally... sometimes specifying some advanced options creates problems.

Binoy,

Speaking from experience with DB2 it pays off to use client components of the same level as the server. So if you are working with version 8.1 I would suggest installing components from the runtime client that comes with it. DB2 is VERY fuzzy about this. Older components may be the cause of your trouble, upgrading clients is the sure way to avoid these type of hassles.............

Yea, i tried reinstalling the BO and that clicked. I think the ODBC that BO installs for DB2 was the problem, reinstallation solved the problem. I think sometimes, BO dosen't install correctly in one installation. Few of the machines(Win 2000 Professional) i installed BO started giving big "BUGS" when i go for any type of report formatting. Then again, reinstallation of BO worked......some fuzzy reasons though!!
