I have developed an MS Access 2000 application. I have separated tables from screens . Copied (only Tables) access database on the NT server and linked (using Linked table manager) those tables to the Desktop access screens.
4 out of 5 users had no problem in accessing (reading) the information (which is shared among all the users). fifth user when invokes his MS access desktop application (which has screens) gets an "locking" error. But if he logs onto different machine, and accesses this MSAccess it works perfectly fine.

Is there any issue related to Access rights to that drive (NT server drive) where the Server Access application is running?

would really appreciate any help.
thank you

If the user is getting a locking error, that should tell you it's not a permission problem. The user's copy of Access probably has his option set to open databases exclusively by default. Look at Tools>Options>Advanced and change the Default Open Mode setting. Rick Sprague
