Urgent: background pic in table and/or table cell

On every web I have, old, new etc., my option to add a background pic to tables/cells is greyed out. No themes, have checked everything. I am getting desperate here!I can change the background color of a table/cell. I can do a background picture on a whole page. But I need to do it within a table. Help!

Hi...

Go to
Tools | Page Options | Compatibility tab

Tick everything and set the boxes to custom
Click ok

Now you should be able to access your table background.

If anything is ever greyed out... always check your compatibility settings... some other features require you to have the site open live on the server if their features are greyed out like security settings..

A million thank yous! Sooooo frustrating when it is a seemingly simple solution, but I would have *never* figured out the compatibility problem!

When choosing between putting your background in the table or the cell, if it won't make any difference to your visual design choose the cell.

Netscape doesn't pick up the table background color generally. Netscape will show a table background image so we always create images out of the colors instead of using the color, if we need a table background.
