UPS connecting to a Prologix

I need to connect a APC UPS to a Prologix system that has no maintenance boards. I need the system to notify someone when an alarm comes into the system when the UPS comes online. Is this p[ossible, if not what is needed to make it functional and how. Thanks tech bro's!
