hello,
i have an exchange server setup as the primary mail server, and have a freebsd box that should act as a secondary mail server.

now, my exchange failed, and i have about 300 email messeges on the freebsd box's email folder for that user - how do i flush these emails so that they are resent to the exchange?

i only have one mail box on the freebsd server.

we have an adsl link and the exchange is now working ok, but these messages are still stuck there!

do i need to make a pop3 connector or is this something different?

please advise.

cheers

Hmm... Good question.

Here's what I would likely do. Connect to your F-BSD mailbox, pop your mail from it to outlook into a PST file. Connect your outlook to the exchange mailbox (not pop) and import the pst into that mailbox.

this is good for a couple mailboxes, but if you have lets say 50 mailboxes to do this with, it won't be fun, therefore your best bet would likely be to install a pop conector like you said, so exchange can then grab those messages directly from the FreeBSD box.

Good luck.
