I just baught a Toshiba Satellite M45-S355.
I have a legitimate copy of XP Pro that I want to replace
the existing OS(XP Home). I'm wondering if there will be any caveats. All Toshiba tech support will say is that they
recommend not replacing the OS or they may not be able to support me in the future. My biggest concern is drivers.

Any input is greatly appreciated.

TIA

I have a Toshiba Satellite 2435-s255 running Win XP Pro without any problems. The only OS issue I've had was trying to get linux on it. My model laptop apparently uses some unusual power management system. As far as I am aware XP home/pro only differ in the networking and some security areas. The drivers and such should be identical.

No probs with drivers, they are the same!
Will you be using PROS extra features? as there is usually no advantage to having pro on a single user laptop.
The basic OS being the same.
