I have an HP pavillion 9680c. Currently I have windows 98 SE. I wanted to know what i need to do in order to upgrade to win XP. What are the issues involved, if any? Currently, I have 256 RAM, 650 MHZ Pentium III, 8 MB nVidia Riva TNT Vanta, Video Memory 8 MB SDRAM, AGP 2X. 3D Stereo PCI, 16-bit sound, Polk Audio Speakers, USB keyboard and mouse

Before you install XP make sure all of your hardware is supported as XP does not support legacy devices.

Visit Microsoft.com and check on the hardware compatibility list, graphics etc

This is most important it has been known that a relatively new PC does not support XP.

smah...the link you provided me with above is for upgrading to XP pro. Will that work for XP Home Edition also?

If it says your computer is OK for Pro, it will be fine for Home also.
