upgrading Oracle RDBMS 8.1.7.0 to 8.1.7.4 on Win XP

Hi,
I try to upgrade Oracle 8.1.7.0 to 8.1.7.4 on Win XP Pro SP1
but Oracle Universal Installer (1.7.1.10.1) fails in the beginning on the installation:
"Certain files which need to be reinstalled by Oracle Universal Installer are being used by one more running services. The following services need to be shutdown before continuing:"

<here is list of almost all services!>

(I've stopped all oracle services)
How can I solve the problem?

When that happens to me, I ensure that the services using the files are set to "Manual" startup. (Be sure to make a list of the services you change so you can set them back to "Automatic" startup once the patch is complete.) Re-boot your XP machine. Then apply the 8.1.7.4 patch...It should work fine this time. Then change the services back to "Automatic" and either re-start the services or re-boot your machine.
