upgrading issues

I am planning to upgrade my xp pro machine. With new motherboard, procesor, memory, the works

The only parts i will be keeping is the hard drive.

Previous attempts to change motherboards on xp machines has given me real problems with the system not booting / needed reinstalling in the end

does anyone have any tips on how to prepare for the upgrade so as to keep my current set of xp settings and programs

get all of the drivers for your new stuff before you change.

go to the XP website to check on conflicts/problems, etc with each of the components.
