I work in a place that currently uses an NT server. They are planning to move to Win 2000. I wasn't sure if I should push them to go to 2003? I'd greatly appreciate some input on the benefits and cost differences between upgrading the server to Win 2000 vs Win 2003.

And .. immediately I need to run the .NET Framework on the server (for a software program I am wanting to add). The question is .. can I add .NET to Win NT .. or must I wait until the server is upgraded to either Win2000 or Win2003?

And .. if the server is upgraded to Win2000 or Win2003 "WITH" the .NET Framework .. will the .NET interfere with any softare, basic ASP scripts, etc. that I had running on the NT server (prior to the upgrade)?

Being that I am really unfamiliar with this, I simply need to know what challenges I might encounter if and when the upgrade to Win2000 or Win2003 (with .NET Framework) .. will cause .. or not cause.

I'd really appreciate some thoughts and comments regarding this.

But I really also want to know if it is possible to "ADD" .NET to WINNT .. or if I'll need to wait till they upgrade?

Help?

Thanks,
Gary
