1. I have gone thru the procedure via the Dell Upgrades and it gives me a few steps. The Prep Tool gave a report stating that I could upgrade my PC to WInXP. The Windows XP Upgrade Advisor Report gave some information that is realizable. The Dell Report states that I should download the most recent BIOS which is ok.

What I am unsure of are the following:
1. The Network drivers - I have a 3Com 3C920 Integrated Fast Ethernet Controller which is 3C905C-Tx comptaible.
The Dell report shows 3Com 3C905C integrated Netwrok card drivers. Should I have to install this?

2. I have a IEEE 1394 Firewave controller and the Dell report states that I should install the driver for SCI IEEE 1394 controller. Should I?

If the drivers are available, then I would surely download them. It is always a good idea to keep up with the latest drivers for any of the devices.

Thanks.
My question 2 refers to the two IEEE controllers not having the same name (IEEE1394 Firewave on my Dell PC description) while the update shows it as SCI IEEE1394 controller. Will this cause problems if I upgrade because the names are not the same?

The same problem for quetion 1

No, if it is not the appropriate driver it will keep the original driver that has the correct ID.
