Hi everybody,
I am getting ready to bump my PBX from release 6 to 10. I remember reading that some things you can no longer administer in v10. Is there anything specific I should ask for when this is being set up? Right now I am able to do standard busy/relase permissions. I don't want to really lose any administration permissions when we go up to 10 and want an idea of what to ask for.

Thanks
Jay

just make sure they make your ID a super-user then you can do all busyouts and releases

Anyone else with ideas about release 10? Would like to hear as much as possible concerning bugs, features, real-life stories etcetera.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!~

When installing the license file remove your C-LAN if you are using IP-endpoints.

Otherwise it won't work...

It is also wise to have a spare processor... As we fried us after doing the "upgrade software"-command. (Upgrading from V9.5 to V10) We weren't able to read the flash card anymore. Looking at the processor board we came up with another good title for Spielberg next movie "Honey I shrunk the stickers". Obvious some IC's had it a little too warm.
Was a good lesson though, as we also could do the procedure Processor Swap-Out. :)
There we ran in the problem of the faulty serialnumber labelling of the French manufactured processors (EMEA-only).
It is a pitty that the Technical Bulletin describing this issue wasn't on the EMEA BP supportsite when we were swapping ours.
Luckely our friends in Denver were very helpful in solving this issue.

I had an ugly bug when going from Pre-9.5 to R10 while using IP devices. None of the IP RTU carried over resulting in my IP phones and trunks being disabled for an entire week! R10 seems to require "acts of GOD" to change RTU and software options. If your upgrade goes poorly, expect a long wait (by design) for things to get straightened out. I really haven't seen any benefit over R9 in our particular configuration/situation. The engineers claimed that bug would be resolved within 2 weeks on all other upgrades (we upgraded Jan 25) so it may no longer be an issue. -CL
