Upgrading from Access to VB (Front End) and SQL Server Version 7.0

I am a complete beginner and so converting databases is stumping me at every turn. My latest problem is this;

How do I open another form with just the relevant information on the record from the first form i.e. client number to client number?

Also, can you place subforms in forms in visual basic?

Any help very much appreciated.
