Upgrading from 2k to 2k3 potential problem?

We have a domain that was upgraded from winnt..the problem is that the domain name is called "domain" with no extension. and the netbios name for the domain is also "domain" the exact same name as the domain. currently we have 2000 domain...will this be a problem upgrading to 2k3?
