Upgrading DS Module 1

Hi all
As you have probably guessed I am pretty new to Avaya systems but have good telecom/IT background. I am buying in Ireland but getting little or no support and getting stuck on the simplest of items. If anyone can recommend a UK supplier which gives good support would be a start.

I find the IP office and voicemail pro easy to implement but I have difficulty with the CCC apps and upgrading software on a DS module at the moment. Any help would be greatly appreciated:

I have a 406 v4.0 with a 16DS Mod v2.1. I am trying to upgrade the software so it will work with the 406 but getting "upgrade failed". I am trying to upgrade to 3_2_99 file in Manager before going to V4 but keep getting an erro message. This seems like a simple task to me but I it is failing each time. Am I overlooking something?

The reasons for the failure are probably one of the following........

1. Windows firewall, add upgradewiz.exe to you exceptios list or turn the firewall off.

2. What password are you using on the upgrade? If you are not using "password" try that.

3. There is a known issue with DS30 modules where by it wont upgrade unless the 406u.bin file is dropped into the 3_2_99 directory. I dont think this applies to a ds16 though.

Thanks PlatinumGuy. password was all I needed. I was using Administrator but it wasn't giving me "access denied" results so I assumed it was something else.

And now I move on....

MTV Telecom: I have used for a long time and support is good and our account manager is really good.
Nimans: Never used but I know someone who would recomend them!

Are you just trying to upgrade the DS module? If so you do not need stepped upgrades. Just point your directories to the manager folder and upgrade. the processor module is the only one that needs steps.

To get the DS modules to V4 there is a loader 3.2(999) required.

I know this is unusual to have a loader for the expansion modules but it is needed.
