Hello
I have a DFI K6BV3+ rev.a+ Main Board - AMD K6 II 400 CPU.
320 Megs of PC 100 ram. 16 Meg VooDoo Banshee AGP 1X Video.
Sound Blaster live pci sound. Windows 98 SE. The system runs great but some of the newer games i want to play - i dont have a fast enough cpu, most need a PII 500. the 400 will play the games but they are slugish - i thought i would upgrade to a K6 II 550 or a K6III 550. My main board rev. A doesnt support the 550 but it does have the jumper setting to run these processors - should I take the chance with the 550 or stay with the 500 which the board supports?
( rev B. of the same main board supports the AMD k6 II & III 550)
Is this kind of upgrade even worth the trouble ??
Thanks for any help
Terry
