I downloaded a free TFTP client program, but I don't know where to get the latest Cisco IOS images for my 2501/2504/2514.

Currently running:
2501 - 11.0
2504 - 12.1
2514 - 12.2

I went to Cisco.com and couldn't find the image or was told, "Sorry, gotta have some kind of special key or something". What is the latest image and where do I go to get it. My routers aren't online so I'll have to download the images to my WinXP machine and I'll upload it from there. I'm new to all of this as I'm studying for my CCNA and bought all these routers off of Ebay.

Thanks for any and all help provided!

Unfortunately, you can only download images from CCO if you have a CCO login that includes access to the IOS software center.

We all pirate so any links to get the images from anyone? anywhere?

Can you tell me what the latest IOS is for these routers? Does it cost me to get a CCO login and obtain the latest IOS's for these routers?

You need to have a SMARTnet service contract on them in order to be able to download images. I would imagine that a contract on a 2500 wouldn't cost very much, assuming that you can even buy SMARTnet on them any more.

binaryops,
Yes and No - Yes it costs money to buy a SmartNet account that gives you access to the Cisco IOS downloads but I doubt you can get a SmartNet on the 2500's since they have reached EOL with Cisco.

If you can get cco acces you could get IOS, your 2514 with the 12.2 is close to the latest - I think the latest is 12.3 but do some research - must have 16/16 and I have seen posts here and at DSL Reports that it does not run well on some 2500s even though they say it should.

You really should be able to do just about anything you want to do with the 12.2, I had a friend with a 2514 with 16/16 and he put the last IOS with firewall support for the 2514 (I think 12.3 something) and it ran bad - he was the one who researched it and found posts about others who had same trouble - he moved up to a 2611.

Check Ebay - might be able to find IOS for sale or get another 2500 router that is 16/16 and lists the latest IOS and then just use TFTP to copy to others - some of the CCNA "kits" include disks with copies of different IOSs for the 2500 in the "lab" - you might try emailing one of these through Ebay and see if they will sell just the disk to you for "lab use".

I hope this helps!

Thank you all for your responses, I will do what I can to try and find out if I can get those images.

Well this is what I would do. Seeing as 12.2 is the latest verion for the 2500 series and that the 12.2 image is good for routers 2501-2525 I would just copy the IOS from the 2514 to the others and they would be updated.

Make sure that the image on the 2514 is not to large for the other routers.

Do I have enough memory on each of these 2500's to take your suggestion and copy the 12.2 image from my 2514 to my computer and then tftp it to my other routers. See below for my memory and version specs.

This is the feature set on the 2514.
IP/FW PLUS IPSEC 56
It requires 10mb om main memory and 16mb of flash. The 2501 only has 8mb flash so you need to upgrade it. Other than that everything else looks ok.
