Hi,
I need to upgrade an IPLDK50 to a twin cabinet. The current system has a MPBS with a ASMU1E on it.
Am i right in believing that the MPBS can't run a twin cabinet and is solely for a single cabinet.
Will i have to get a MPBE with an ASMU2E on or a MPBN with an ASMU2N on and then re-program from scratch??

Which would be the better option??

What is your current software level?
Check with [Tran/PGM]+72.

Currently you have one cabinet using MPBS and ASMU1E.
This only works for one cabinet.
It is important that MPBS is used only for the 1st cabinet. The 2nd KSU is not available.

But the MPBN (or MPBE) supports the first and second cabinet.
So you need an MPBE/ASMU2E og MPBN/ASMU2N set of bords.
Today, I think, only MPBN/ASMU2N is available.

The backup taken from the one cabinet system can be entered in the new system.

It's on version 3.0, not sure about the letters though.

I didn't think you could upload a downloaded database from an mpbs onto a mpbe/mpbn , i have always been told the database would get corrupted.

Maybe you're right.
I have used MPBS, but I have upgraded several ipLDK-50 to ipLDK-100, just by adding the second cabinet and an ASMU2/ASMU2E/ASMU2N, and reusing the database from the one cabinet system.
In worst case you must write down the data or make screenshots from LDK PC ADMIN.

To make this a double cabinet system - you will need an MPBN and a ASMU2N, plus the Link cable...
