I have one 9620 and would like to upgrade to the latest software. I do not have a server to load the software on. I heard there was a way upgrade via a lan connection to a PC.
Is this a true statement and if so how?

just down load MVIPTel from Avaya's web site. Its free.

Also read the document that comes with it very closely. This week I've learned allot. I got my phones upgraded to 2.0, a logo on my screen saver and my outlook contacts on my ip-phone. Also go through the config file closely, allot of good stuff and good luck.

Also, I've only got a few phones right this minute so I'm running the software on my MS XP laptop.

well I downloaded MVIPTel.
installed it
started it

Now how do I get the phone to pull from it?

I am running on XP

When my phone boots up it says username and password

The phone has a SIP load to it and I need to run H323.

I press mute craft # to get into the settings on the phone. change from default to H323, save and reset.

The phone comes back up with login and password.

Is there a way to off load the SIP load on this phone?
