Upgrades

I have just recently started to use W2k. I have had continuing problems with the computer freezing and have reformatted and reinstalled w@k so many times I need a "Macro".

I am learning to use W2K in a home computer enviornment. Basic stuff with internet browsing, but do financial transactions on the internet.

What would I lose by NOT applying The 3 major upgrades from Microsoft?

Can I just install the security updates listed on the M/S Upgrade site.?

John, make sure the hardware is on the HCL. Flash the BIOS of everything possible.

Then install w2k. Then install SP2 - not 3 as this sometimes causes trouble. Then use windows update to apply the updates you fancy. The security apdates won't stop it crashing, just make it more secure.
