A friend of mine has win95 and she is thinking about upgrading. she's considering win2000 or win ME. Any recommendations?

So reading this when people were advised not to 'downgradeto ME' may be the cause of the problems I have been having recently, especially with their so-called system restore facility. Dont even attempt it after SEPT 12

A very unhappy user.
But having done it what do I do now. reinstall my WIN 95 disc.
How much will this affect elsewhere?
Especially new software.?

OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ME isn't preferable if you can avoid it. It doesn't work well with older hardware, and seems to be full of bugs. I definitely recommend upgrading to at least Win98SE, which is much more stable than ME. If you want to go further, then make sure your hardware is less than 3 years old. Otherwise, Win2K, WinME, or WinXP won't be a lot of fun!

Shell out the cash for newer hardware and go for XP!!
