Hello all,

Try to make this as short as possible, but include all the details.

I tried doing an upgrade the other night, from 9.1.12 to 11.0.4.
IPO upgraded fine except the 30 digital expansion couldn't upgrade after numerous reboots.
I did this all remotely, so when I get on site, I'll power down main Control Unit & Expansion then power up Expansion wait till ready to power up the main Control Unit & that should successfully upgrade I'm hoping.

Anyways, thought I'd move forward on upgrading the VMPRO also 9.1.12 to 11.0.4.
Things looked like they upgraded successfully, but I couldn't log back in & the services weren't started so voicemail was down.
Went in & erased security settings through Manager & put in my new passwords.
Still was unable to login.
When I would put in the User name & password it says I need to have something in the Unit Name/IP Address.
Whenever I would put something in there it removes my previous entries for User name & password.

I've read about password needed for the upgrade, but I have no way of putting it in.

Tried to start the Services & says unable due to not logon.

Then I thought just uninstall & reinstall, have the same problem.

After hours of reading & reading could not find a solution.

Eventually, I just uninstalled again & put it back to the 9.1.12, everything just came right up without me even needing to put in Username/password.
It just automatically had something in the Unit name/IP address.
Tested everything good.

Still would like to upgrade the VMPRO, but need to know what I'm doing wrong.
Sorry if it's simple, first time having to upgrade a VMPRO.

Thanks so much for all replies.

Now that I have the VMPRO back up on the 9.1.12, I do see under System Preferences / General / Voicemail Password.
Should I put in the new password now & have better luck doing the Upgrade?
Currently nothing is even in it, just blank.

Before when I upgraded to the 11.0.4, I couldn't even access the System Preferences / General, when I clicked on it just nothing happened, my System Preferences box never could come up.

I assumed because the VMPRO wasn't running???

Thanks derfloh,

I did read that & did try.
I was doing this remotely & when I tried to get in Web Manager I got Embedded File Server Does Not Exist.
The only way I know how to get that back on was to recreate the SD Card, meaning I would have to be onsite.

Is Web Manager the only way to enable?

To recreate the SD Card would I have to be onsite?
I see in Manager / File / Advance there's a recreate option, I have never tried anything with that.

When I do go to Embedded File Management I do not see any of the Web Management files, so I know it isn't available.

Is there a way to just download those Web Management files remotely.

They had me do the upgrade at night, so they want little to none downtime during the day.

Thanks again for the tip.

Thanks derfloh,

I'll just schedule a time then with the customer to recreate the SD Card, so I have Web Management to complete the VMPRO upgrade.

Don't know if I'm missing something but I mentioned above;

So there currently is no way for me to get in Web Management in the application server.
Unless I'm not following what you mean????

Thanks derfloh

After more reading I think I know what derfloh is referring to.

That I can go to a VMPRO Web Management.

My IPO is on IP 10.1.1.16 & VMPRO is on a local Windows based PC 10.1.1.17

Just tried putting in
Got a VMPRO box that popped up saying "Unable to acquire a license for this service"
This is still at the 9.1.12 revision, just want to know exactly where/how to get in the Application server's/VMPRO Web Management.

If I didn't say earlier this is my first VMPRO upgrade & call me stupid if you will, but never knew a VMPRO Web Management also existed.

Sorry & thanks, if anyone can give me more details

Hello derfloh,

Thanks again for all the replies, thought I'd give an update.

Last night I did the gradual upgrade from the 9.1.12 to 10.0 tested everything good, then to 10.1 still good, then finally to my 11.0.4.
Someone else on a different thread I started mentioned to try it that way & thought I'd give my update on both.

Everything went successful!!!

Never had to uninstall, or reload any files at all.

Hope this helps others.
