Hello,

I have a Nortel Option 81C that was upgraded from version 25.4 to CS1000 5.5.
We are still using Octel 250 system but will later be switching to Call Pilot.
Since the upgrade we are having a problem transferring calls into voicemail.
Before upgrade: Secretary would pickup Attorney's call, press tfr, dial 7500, press #, dial voicemail box number, then press ** and press connect which puts the caller in attorneys voicemail.
After Upgrade: If call is on Primary key you press 2 *.
But if call picked up on rollover line, only 1 * can be used.
I need to have both Primary and rollover line transfer with same identical steps.
Any ideas?

more the likely your looking at a timer.. ees may be no.. a couple of things to check..

Spirit1,

We use Octel as well. I have a vmail box, therefore when I transfer a call to someone elses vmail box, I use two stars. (Octel's backspace key). If a called person does not have a vmail box, that person only uses one star when doing the transfer.

You might try putting a dummy mailbox on the rollover key - but I've not tried it so no guarantee.

Thanks for trying to help.
I found a work around.
If you pickup a Primary DN line you press **.
If you pickup a rollover line you press just one *.
