Hi,
Someone has given me a Toshiba Satellite Pro 4280 to have a look at for them.
They were running NT4 on it, and decided to upgrade it Win2K. They used an upgrade CD, rather than wipe the whole thing and start from scratch.
After the update was complete, the system had a few issues that needed to be resolved.
1. A process called BSER.EXE is using 99% of CPU ( I know that this is the Toshiba BIOS Server Service, and did find an article mentioning an issue with Advanced Power Management, but the solution was for NT 4 )
2. When opening the Control Panel, several error messages are displayed. They are "HCI load error!", and "SCI load error!". These are repeated several times before the control panel finally opens.
If anyone can point me in the right direction, I'd appreciate it.
Thanks
Rich
