DOES AN UPGRADE ON THE PBX REQUIRE A REBOOT??. I THINK AN UPGRADE REQUIRES A REBOOT, BUT MY BOSS SEEMS TO THINK NOT AND IS MAKING ME INQUIRE. ANYWAY, I'VE ALWAYS KNOWN TO REBOOT AFTER AN PBX UPGRADE, BUT POSSIBLE SOME UPGRADES DO NOT REQUIRE A REBOOT...??ANY SUGGESTIONS..THANKS

Everyone I've done has. The only time is if just entering new licenses on existing release. If you review the NTP's for the upgrade one of the last steps is to reboot.

mluckie1 is correct. We did about 120 upgrades over a 2 year period, all Option 11's. It does not matter how big or small the jump is, a reboot is ALWAYS required.

(We did have the process from Rel 25 to Succession 3.0 down to about 15 minutes, so the downtime is minimal, but it still exists.)

you can add keycodes without an upgrade, but on larger switches i do an ini when i switch from the old software to the new, either way with a rls upgrade your going to lose service.
