Greetings,
I just started at a company and have basic user and some admin experience in SCO unix enviornments. One of my first assignments is to upgrade a OpenServe 5.0.0b machine to make it Y2K compliant. The engineer before me spec'd out an upgrade to Unixware 7.0.1. I have never performed an upgrade of this magnitude (where the whole partions are wipe out). Also, I don't know what "home grown" applications they/customer has on their system that would be lost.
Question: Since it appears Openserve 5.0.5 is Y2K complaint, would it make since just to go to 5.0.5 instead of something drastic like Unixware? The only reason for the upgrade is y2K, and that they want to install VSI-Fax gold program.
