I have a 1750 with a WIC-1DSU-T1 card currently connected via a console connection. I need to upgrade the IOS and was kinda hoping I could do it thru the console.

Is this possible? Or do I need to setup the 10/100 ethernet port with an ip address and then use tftp?

Thanks In Advance

You can do it with xmodem but if will be very slow at 9600 bps. Your best bet would be to download a tftp server and put it on your laptop , configure a port on the router with an address and configure your laptop address in the same subnet and just download it . Xmodem will take at least an hour due to speed limitations, you can speed it up somewhat if you change the console speed to 115200 bps along with your xmodem transfer program.
