Upgrade from Mics Rel 1 T1 to Mics 6.1-XC

I need to upgrade a Mics Rel1 T1 to a Mics 6.1 XC. I called our distributor to order the USA Mics-XC upgrade tool and the Mics 6.1 XC software.They told me that they would rather not sell me the upgrade tool because it is unreliable and hardly ever works. Is this true? Would I be better off using a RAD With NRU to restore the programming? Thanks in advance for your reply.

probably they meant to say -
that it is better to do a clean install - and even by using an upgrade tool, some reprogramming is required

you cannot restore programming from one version to another

R1T1 to 6.1 is to large a jump. Besides, I don't think you can use it to upgrade from R1T1 to an XC software anyway.

Thanks for the replies. I was trying to avoid reprograming a system with over 100 users but I guess I'll have to make a day of it. Thanks again.
