Upgrade from ME to XP Pro

Im thinking of upgrading my home box from ME to XP pro. I would be interested to hear the good, the bad, and the ugly from anyone who has done this. Thanks in advance.

Upgrading is ugly... A lot of things can easily go wrong in simply upgrading. If you want the best chance of things going smoothly, I'd format the hard drive and install XP clean.

Also, make sure all your periferals have XP drivers. Jennifer Sigman

Thanks for the reply. That is the route I usually take. However, I was just curious on what other individuals had experienced with upgrading from ME to XP pro. Jim Webber

I have not upgraded ME to XP but I have upgraded 98 to XP. The installation went smooth but after a few days things started to go screwey. I reformated the computer and installed XP clean. Ever since I did that I have had no problems with it. I would not recommend doing the upgrade. A clean install is the best way to go.
