Hi!
Can anyone please let me know if it is possible to upgrade reports written in crystal reports 6.5 to Crystal reports 9.0, without re writing the whole report once again.
Your help is much appreciated.
It all depends on the functions used in CR6 reports....often they will run because most of the functions used in CR6 are used the same in CR9...the big exception is when Subreports are used and data is transfered back and forth....Shared variables are used for that purpose in CR9 and they weren't available in CR6. CR6 used a special UFL for that that isn't supported in CR9 (perhaps it could be added....but it would be in your best interest to convert to shared variables.
My advice is to load the CR6 report in CR9...run it...if no errors then save it and it is now a CR9 report....if there are errors then track them down and fix.
You amy encounter some situations where a CR6 is written very awkwardly since there was no do-while or other logical structures to make life easier....you might want to change these formulas if it makes the report more efficient.

The quality of the answer is directly proportional to the quality of the problem statement!
There is no such thing as crystal v6.5, unless you possibly purchased this bundled with another software and you are using a proprietary version of crystal.
Your best advice was already given, download the v9 demo and try it.
